slicksugar :: keeping kids unique & keeping the music alive! {giveaway}

SlickSugar is  an online clothing and accessory retailer that has awesome vintage designs, several of which have a distinct musical flair.  The latest tee from SlickSugar is their adorable new “Keep the Music Alive” tee, which I totally wish they made in adult sizes, cause I’d totally rock it along with Lily!!

A percentage of proceeds from this exclusive tee go benefit Little Kids Rock, a non-profit organization that has become the leading provider of free music lessons and musical instruments to underprivileged children in public schools that have lost their music programs due to lack of funding. Little Kids Rock was started in 2002 by an elementary school teacher who was frustrated by the lack of music funding in his own school. This program allows children to create their own music, music videos and CDs with no cost to their school. The program works in partnership with the school’s music teacher and staff, providing either in-school classes or after school activities.

This tee is adorable on its own, but when you consider the good it does through Little Kids Rock, this is a must have for every kid! I truly think that music classes in schools are a very important facet of a child’s education.  Music serves as a creative outlet for so many of us throughout their lives and music education keeps it flowing strongly from generation to generation - can you imagine a world without music? Without music education, children are missing out on a hugely effective and constructive developmental tool, the absence of which can impact their lives in a negative way. I strongly urge every SIMPLE reader to purchase one (or more!) of these tees to help keep the music alive!!
