Have you heard of Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops? If not, ask your grandpa – he may remember them from his childhood. The brand began in 1870 and died off in popularity in the 1970s when they began to be made overseas… but they have returned to the USA and have been relaunched! They are currently available in Wild Cherry (my fave) and Natural Honey, with Lemon-Citrus and Licorice coming soon. I can’t wait for Licorice!
These throat drops are unique because they are softish (I have fallen in love with that word). They are similar to a gummy bear, only a little tougher. I find myself chewing on them instead of sucking on them because of the texture. They are made with gum acacia, which soothes the throat naturally. They contain all-natural flavoring and coloring – the Wild Cherry drops are colored with elderberry concentrate rather than artificial coloring.
The puck design of their packaging (think “hockey puck”) is pretty cool, though it is not baby proof, so keep the puck in the medicine cabinet! Lily can not only open a Pine Bros. puck, but she can open bottles of teriyaki marinade in the fridge! Clever girl!
I have to say, Pine Bros. has chosen a very interesting “celebrity” spokesperson… Rudi “Tutti” Grayzell. He’s straight out of the 70s! You can see his commercials here. Oh, and they are MADE IN AMERICA! my SIMPLE star rating :: 4.5 out of 5
