You want a pet, but you don’t.

So your kids keep asking you for a pet, but you don’t want a pet.  Cats and dogs are expensive and need a lot of attention.  Birds are kinda messy and squawk a lot.  Snakes and other reptiles are totally out of the question for obvious reasons.  And a pony, yeah, your place isn’t really set up for a pony.

As a parent, I love them because they really haven’t added any chores to my already packed schedule.  No cleaning of the tank (ok, you actually have to change the water every 3 months), and we can even safely leave for the weekend and just feed them when we return (no pet sitter needed for these guys)!
