I have two small children. They each eat 3 meals a day with snacks inbetween. The usage of utensils is few and far between around here, and when used, food usually goes flying from overzealous use of a spoon, or someone gets stabbed in the cheek with a fork. Did I just admit that out loud?
Solution: Tinytongs. Yep, that’s right, little-people sized tongs. Ahhh, I’m breathing easier already. These things are awesome. Easy to grip for a toddler, and even easier for them to use. Here are just a few of its features:
- Non-toxic, dishwasher safe, lead-free, phthalate-free, BPA-free
- Ergonomic shape for a child
- Free of sharp edges for a tactile feel
Tinytongs just make sense for little ones to transition from using their fingers to using forks and spoons. What a genius idea!
GET YOUR OWN!! (with a coupon!) Tinytongs can be purchased on their website for $7.99 each. Use code smr20 to receive a 20% discount.
WIN YOUR OWN!! We’ve got a pair of Tinytongs to give to one of our lucky SIMPLE readers. To enter, visit Tinytongs.com then comment here telling us what you think looks cool about them. I love all the cute colors! My oldest son, who is almost 2, thinks it's funny when he drops his food off his utensil on the table. Then he says "doggy" and proceeds to eat it off the table like a dog. I can assure you I never thought I'd let my kids eat like that. I have to admit, that while it's not good manners, it is kind of cute!

Posable grip ends? I'm curious how that would work or if they would end up getting all bent out of shape and not work.

I feel so bad when my little one (15 months) tries SO HARD at using a spoon, but doesn't seem to quite get it. BUT I do think she would get these tinytongs. I love how cute they look too. I also think the posable grip end is genius.

Those are pretty cool…….My son picked up using utensils pretty easily, but I think he would love these. He often pretends that his spoon and fork are diggers or other grabber trucks, so he would enjoy using those!

I think my daughter would have so much fun using these. She wants to do it herself sooo badly (at 13months, geesh) but I can't let her have a fork yet. This would substitute nicely!

Dishwashwer safe is, obviously, a great feature. I like the fact that they look easy to throw in a zip-loc bag and then into the diaper bag for meals on the road! The price is pretty groovy, too! Great find…..
