I quickly learned that it is impossible to hold an umbrella while carrying 2 small children through the pouring rain. Not unless I miraculously grow a third arm. After a harsh lesson from mother nature, I decided it was high time I get a quality raincoat. And the first place I thought of was LL Bean. Sure enough, I have found the perfect rain jacket – the Stowaway Rainwear Parka with Goretex.
Even in the harshest of rainstorms, this jacket will KEEP YOU DRY! Its really lightweight, so its easy to pack (or stuff ruthlessly into your diaper bag.) When it gets really cold, I plan to layer this over my winter coat to stay extra dry while rolling around in the snow with my kids. My favorite feature is the long length – it falls just above the knee. With two boys, I’m sure I have MANY sporting events in my future, so I like that I’ll have my rear end covered while sitting on cold bleachers in rain-or-shine weather! And with LL Bean’s unsurpassed quality, I know this coat will last me many many many years, if not a lifetime!

I have always been a fan of LL Bean because of their high-quality clothing and their classic styles. Many of those “staple” items in my wardrobe are from LL Bean, including TWO of these Swift River Cardigans. And I think I might just need a THIRD…I’m loving it in blue! They also have top-notch customer service, and easy hassle-free returns/exchanges.
GET YOUR OWN!! LL Bean has the Stowaway Rainwear Parka with Goretex on sale for $142.99 which is a great value for the quality of this jacket. You will also find their entire line of clothing and gear on their website. You’re sure to find something (or MANY things!) you can’t live without.
WIN YOUR OWN!! LL Bean would like to outfit one of our lucky SIMPLE readers in a Stowaway Rainwear Parka with Goretex. (We’ve got one in sea blue, size medium to giveaway.) To enter, go to LL Bean and pick out one item you’d love to have for the upcoming cold-weather season. Then come back here and comment telling us what that is!
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL IN THE COMMENT SO WE HAVE A WAY TO CONTACT YOU!!

Hi all,
I would LOVE the Garmin Nuvi 1390T for my husband of 15 years who STILL refuses to ask for directions. No girls, it is not an urban legend…it is the truth. Maybe the AWESOME L.L.Bean jacket will keep this Wisconsin girl warm when the HEATING blower goes out on our vehicle again. And NO…we do not ask someone to fix it because someone's EGO always says "I can probably fix it"! Ummmm…there, now I feel better. (giggle).
